Modern slavery statement
Our commitment to preventing slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chains.
Introduction
This statement sets out the steps InterCoach Travels Company takes to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chains. It is published in the spirit of section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. It covers our financial year ending [Year end date].
Our business
We provide coach hire, minibus hire and car hire services across the United Kingdom. Our main supply chains include vehicle maintenance and repair, vehicle and fuel suppliers, cleaning, insurance, and contracted drivers where used.
Our policies
We do not tolerate slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour or human trafficking in any part of our business or supply chain. Our expectations are set out in our code of conduct, which applies to all staff, and in our contracts with suppliers and contractors.
Due diligence
We take the following steps:
- Checking the identity and reputation of new suppliers and contractors before we engage them
- Requiring suppliers to confirm compliance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and to meet our standards
- Confirming that all drivers and staff have the right to work in the UK and are paid at least the National Minimum Wage or National Living Wage
- Making sure workers are not charged recruitment fees and can leave their employment freely
- Training managers and staff to recognise the signs of modern slavery
Risk assessment
We regularly review our operations and supply chains for risks. We consider the sectors we work with, the countries our suppliers operate in and the working conditions of workers who may be engaged on our behalf.
Raising concerns
Anyone working for us or with us can raise a concern about slavery or trafficking, confidentially if they prefer, by contacting info@intercoachcompany.co.uk. Concerns are investigated, and we do not tolerate retaliation against anyone who speaks up in good faith.
Effectiveness
We monitor the effectiveness of these steps through supplier reviews, staff feedback and by reviewing any concerns raised. We will update this statement as our practices develop.
